Plan now to visit the primary battle sites of the 36th Infantry Division in Italy, from the Salerno invasion beaches of September 9, 1943 to the capture of Rome, June 4, 1944. Designed with a primary emphasis on the scenes of combat of the Division, visits will include Salerno Beach, Altavilla, San Pietro, the Rapido River, Monte Cassino, Hill 593, and Velletri. In addition to the battle sites, there will be exciting sightseeing in beautiful Italy, including Sorrento, the Isle of Capri, and Rome. Come along and hear about the experiences of T-Patchers at places they remember from over 60 years ago! This will be a most fascinating and enjoyable travel experience for the 36th Division veterans, and their families and friends! |
| Your tour leaders and battlefield guides will be three time Purple Heart recipient Carl Strom of Rockford, MI, former platoon leader with B Company, 141st Regiment, 36th Infantry Division, and Colin Sandell of Cedarburg, WI, Italian campaign historian. Each have been to Italy and these battle sites many times, and are looking forward to making this a memorable and educational experience for veterans, their friends, families, and any others interested in walking the steps of American military history. |
